Long before I studied human performance, I learned it through sport.

I started speed skating at eight years old and won my first national championship at 12. I also competed in track and cross country, ran with a running club, and played soccer and baseball. Being a multi-sport athlete taught me early that developing strength, speed, movement, and confidence can make you better at whatever sport you pursue.

Speed skating eventually took me to the highest levels of the sport. I trained at the U.S. Olympic Education Short Track Center in Marquette, Michigan, later joined the International Training Team in Calgary, and went on to compete internationally as a member of the U.S. National Team. In 2006, I became a Junior National Champion and competed in two Olympic Trials.

My athletic career naturally led to coaching and education. While earning my degree in Exercise Science, I interned with the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee Strength & Conditioning Department, working with athletes across soccer, baseball, basketball, and swimming. I also served as strength coach for the Wisconsin Lutheran College men’s golf team.

After college, I continued coaching speed skaters and eventually built my own semi-professional team, coaching athletes through two Olympic Trials. I also founded River West Strength and Conditioning in Milwaukee, where I worked with competitive athletes, active adults, and people recovering from injuries, illness, and major surgeries. For nine years, the gym became a place where performance training and rehabilitation could come together.

My education continued alongside my coaching career. I earned a technical degree in Therapeutic Massage, a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, and a master’s degree in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. I’m also certified through the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and USA Weightlifting.

Coaching With Purpose

Today, my approach is built around the whole person—not just their goals.

I take the time to understand each client’s history, abilities, limitations, and motivations, then use evidence-informed training and practical strategies to help them move and feel better.

Whether I’m helping an athlete reach the next level or helping someone rebuild strength and confidence after an injury, the goal is the same: helping people become stronger, more capable, and more confident in their everyday lives.
